I am currently shopping for car insurance that won't cost me and arm and a leg. I want to keep full coverage on my car because I know so many people drive here without car insurance and I hear stories about cars getting broken into but I don't know anyone pesonally that has happened to.

So I am wondering does Florida offer a defensive driving course where you can get a discount on your insurance?

Who are you insured with now? ( trying to get quotes from as many companies possible)

You want uninsured motorist coverage, not full coverage, to protect you from uninsured motorists. Uninsured motorist coverage is much cheaper than full coverage and in fact is probably already on your policy unless you specifically asked not to have it.

As to full insurance for break-ins, full insurance will cost you way more than any kind of break-in would be likely to cost you apart from theft of the entire vehicle. So you will have to weigh the value of the vehicle versus the cost of the insurance; full coverage is required while paying off the vehicle loan, but in my opinion full insurance is almost never justified financially once the vehicle is paid off, because of the amount the vehicle will have depreciated by then. Obviously rare or expensive cars would be an exception, also cars that you bought new with cash and which still have significant resale value (ie, only one or two years old).

Thanks hgebel for the info def something to consider. I paid my car cash and I still feel it's too new to drop the full coverage but I going to look at my policy about uninsured motorist.

I have Allstate with a crv 2001 low miles etc., however I have it insured
etc., I pay 90.00 per month. I also have high it what, so that does add to it. Also I do own a home why I have more insurance.
call allstate, travelers, state farm, libert mutual etc., and get online quotes etc.

The insurance in Florida is high ~ as you may already know. The BEST prices can be found through AAA ~~ it's worth the membership! Their full coverage ~ NICE insurance is cheaper than the min. insurance you can go with with another company.
