I'm new to the Orlando area from Michigan and looking for a place to start water skiing regularly. I'm looking to join a club or just join some one on a lake with a course. Have ski and gas money, will travel.
Any recommendations?

There is a ski park off 528 before you get to John Young(??) Not sure of the name for it. Don't need a boat.

There are a huge number of clubs and places to ski in the greater Orlando area. The American Water Ski Association/USA Waterski headquarters is located just down I-4 in Polk City. There is a club organized behind The American Water Ski Educational Foundation Waterski Museum from which USA waterski rents office space for their headquarters.
