I'm moving to the Lake Nona area soon and was wondering if anyone had insights into any of the rumors below?
  • Heard that a Whole Foods was coming to the Lake Nona area. Anyone else heard that or know where it would be going?
  • There are plans to build an Eagle Creek Village Center outside of the Eagle Creek community. Anyone know what will anchor it, as I understand Publix may be going in across Narcoose road in a different shopping center.
  • With two of the big medical buildings opening in 2012, the Lake Nona folks seem to think that the Lake Nona Town Center will have some businesses up and running by then. Any word on ground breaking?

I live in the Moss Park, Lake Nona area. From what I understand there's nothing said in the county records of any stores which have signed on. Several of the businesses in the main shopping center, which is anchored by Publix - have moved out due to an increase in rent. The small business said they were told the increase was due to a pass along tax from the state/county. I'm not sure of the details but when several businesses moved out it was very noticiable. We were surprised to see that a new area right next to the present shopping center is being cleared for more retail space when they aren't able to fill all the spots in the present center. However that seems to be the case for much of the retail space in Orlando, that I can see.
