When I was in Tallahassee at FSU, a lot of the apartment complexes close to FSU, FAMU and Tallahassee Community College were only rentable to students. They were set up to where you would rent out your ROOM instead of dividing one rent payment between roommates. That way, if one person bailed on the rent, the other tenants wouldn't have to make up the difference to avoid the consequences. Only the bad tenant would face consequences. So, you could get 2 or 3 of friends together (or get random roommates through the complex), and end up paying $300/month or whatever for your bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment. I didn't do this myself as I opted to get a one bedroom apartment (that I guess I'm still stupidly paying for through loans), but I did have friends who did it.

Here are some examples:

Colony Club · High Point - Floorplans and Rates
Floor Plans - Players Club (http://www.playersclubfsu.com/floorPlans.php - broken link)

I don't know if the immediate area around UCF would have apartments set up like this, but it would be worth checking out.

Well, I just searched "student apartments UCF" on Google and there are some complexes with the options I described for Tallahassee. Here are two of them...

UCF all-inclusive student apartment suites - Orlando
UCF luxury student apartments - Boardwalk at Alafaya Trail

And it looks like utilities (cable, electricity, etc.) are included. Dang. It makes me wish I got a roommate or 2 when I was college.

Wow. Having an appartment with roommates is very expensive. I think I either look for a cheaper 1 BR or stay here where I live right now and go to the community college here. I only pay $480 for my 1BR Apt now and it is in a good community.

Orlando apartments will definitely be more expensive than Palm Bay. However, those roommate based apartments include cable, internet and electricity in the price from the ones I've seen. Anyway, I would definitely choose the main campus over a small satellite if you want the full college experience. However, if that is going to result in you taking out thousands in loans to do so, I would think again.

Yes I have to get loans and the more I have to spend in lease and other things the more loan I would need and the more I have to pay back. I never thought that Orlando would be that expensive.
