The address for "Key Isle at Windermere" is in Ocoee. The latest review on apartmentratings.com seem to be good. (Usually people seem to only come on there when they have something bad to say or when the office posts something really peppy trying to sound like resident).

It does have an Ocoee address ... just north off of Maguire. Gorgeous surrounding area near Gotha & Windermere. Old Florida feel to those areas with lots of big oak trees, small town feel, lots of lakes in the area. Have no clue what the commutes would be like or how easy it would be to reach major connectors.

hmm I'm not sure than since its not actually in Windermere, Gotha and Ocoee are both pretty bad areas (check that Orlando Seminole Crime Map).

You're in a safer part of Ocoee for sure being South of the Turnpike but there'd be two possible problems:
1. Likelihood of emergency response in Ocoee won't be as good as in Maitland, probably not even as good as Winter Park. Reality of living in a decent crime city.

2. An evening out even just a simple meal and you might need to drive all the way across Windermere to restaurant row to have a nice meal in a safe location. Or you can drive across Winter Garden to Clermont. You probably aren't going to want to be out after dark though in Gotha or Ocoee. There don't seem to be any restaurants worth talking about in that tiny part of Ocoee south of the turnpike.

On the other hand it would be very convenient for both you and your wife to get to work being right on top of the toll roads.

The apt complex is south of Colonial and west of the turnpike. All the way across Windermere to Conway and restaurants, Fresh Market, etc is all of about 15-20 minutes.

Switching gears here ... another equity complex in LBV ... Alexandria Parc Vue off 535 is HUGE and not in a very 'classy' area but minutes from Epcot and I-4 into Orlando.

The complex doesn't seem to be too far away from the West Oaks shopping area and its restaurants. The Winter Garden Village shouldn't be a huge trip either.

A best friend of mine lives across the street from Key Isle. I think it's a nice area, basically an extension of Windermere. It's closer to shopping than it may seem- really close to Winter Garden Village which has a bunch of restaurants and stores. Also next door to the complex is a Publix. It only takes a few minutes to get to downtown because the 408 is close by. And getting to Dr. Phillips for more shopping and dining isn't a big deal either.
