Academically, Lake Brantley is as good as any private school and it's public. Your other options are Forest Lake Academy, Pace, and Annunciation school.

I don't know what grade you are looking for, but Park Maitland is not too far and is by far the best for K-6 in my opinion.

Hello there

LB HS is my first choice also and still looking into it. Due to the zoning I have limited my home searching into those zoned area and have yet found the best suite. For that reason; private school ( hopefully) without zoning restriction came to mind.

Children ages; one in 8th grade and the other one is currently in 10th grade.

Thank you

Why are you looking into Private schools?

Can you give us reasons?

My children have attended Private, public and been homeschooled here in Florida.

Currently, two in LBHS and one in Teague Middle school.

Can private message me if you need specific info on schools in Alt or Longwood.

Academically excellent private high schools in the area Trinity Prep and Lake Highland. Neither one is really close to Altamonte. Forest Lake Academy (someone mentioned above) is 7th Day Adventist.

For publics, in Seminole County, I have heard that Lake Brantley HS, Oviedo HS and Lake Mary HS have pretty good reputations in general. Seminole HS' IB program has an excellent rep.

My children attend St. M. Mary in Winter Park. It is not a far drive. They are very happy there and I have no complaints.

If you are Jewish then the Jewish Academy of Orlando (formerly the Hebrew Day School) in Matiland is superb for K-8. Academically they always test 3-5 grades higher than grade level (which is higher than Park Maitland, which is also in Maitland).

They are very high tech and are using iPads even in Kindergarten. From 3rd grade on each kid has their own computer. This is a top touch (but small) school.

Park Maitland is #2 for K-6 (I don't think it goes to 8). It is a very good school and is where most of the rich people send their kids.

Park House is more Montesorri-ish and would be third on my list.

If you're asking about Middle or High School I'm told that Trinity is the best academically -- it is a Christian school and kids are required to attend services.

#2 would be Lake Highland Prep which is good academically but also has a great sports program.

You're looking at about $17,000 in tuition for these places, although some may have scholarship funds.
