My girlfriend does not have insurance and does not work. She needs to go see doctor. Before we went to Solantic but that place isn't the best in my opinion. They will charge her $89. Walgreens will charge $69. Is there any others here in the Orlando area...maybe free or lower cost than that. It's a recurring condition that she has so she just needs the doc to write a perscription.

Sadly no. There is really no public hospitals or clinics in Orlando. It is all either owned by Orlando Health or Florida Hospital and they are NOT cheap. I had a rash before I moved to Las Vegas and had to pay $500 just to SEE a doctor at Dr Phillips hospital

Out here in Las Vegas there is ONE public hospital called University Medical Center, but they still charge a huge fee to see a doctor

I saw shepherds hope, but there are income eligibility requirements and she gets UI so that probably won't work, plus they only see people Tuesdsay/Wednesday so that won't work. I told her to call Central Florida Health Center so we'll see what they say.

I've been to Central FL Family Health Center numerous times and they go on a sliding scale. (when I didn't have insurance) I pay $20 for a visit and that includes bloodwork or other tests. My prescriptions are $15. They have both a lab and pharmacy onsite. It varies for everyone according to income, but it is low cost. The only downside is that if you may have to wait a while even if you have an appointment. It's worth it though for the cost. The care is just as good.

There are several options.

The ones Becky posted are the best bet. Both operate on a sliding scale for uninsured, and they have multiple locations. There is also a center in Pine Hills, I can't remember the name but Google it and it should come up.

Thanks Becky. Do you know their hours there? Do they close at 5...or do they stay open later? I don't mind the waiting....at Solantic we waited like 2 hours each time. How do they verify income?

Thanks Anne. I saw Pinehills but looks like they are part of the Central Florida system. They have like 8-10 locations it looks like.

They have extended hours 2-3 days a week until 7 I believe. They are also open a couple Saturdays a month. They verify your income by pay stubs, unemployment and/or income tax papers. I know you said your g/f is not working, but if she has tax papers from last year, she can use those with unemployment.
