Hey everybody,
I got a new job in orlando. Any suggestions on places close to orlando that are good to live in. I'm looking for a suburb preferably. Rural sections are ok too. No big cities though. I'm looking for places with a 30 min or less commute. Thanks.

I think more information might help. What general area is your job in? What is your range? There are nice suburban and rural areas in all four directions.

My initial gut from the limited information would be Lake County to the north or west (Mt Dora, Clermont, Sorrento, Debary, Deland, etc), but your commute may be closer to 45 minutes to an hour. Orlando is very sprawling. The nicest general suburban areas are:

Oviedo/Winter Springs/Chuluota (Northeast), Longwood/Lake Mary (North), Windermere/Dr Phillips (Southwest), Hunters Creek/Wyndham Lakes (South), Lake Nona (Southeast), Celebration (Far South).

It really depends on your criteria. Are you looking to buy or rent. What is your budget and what size home are you looking for in terms of number of bedrooms and square footage. there are a number of great areas available and Wilshire pointed aout a number of them, but without knowing the above you may not be able to get into many of them. Obviously the more info you give us the better able we will be to assist you.
