We looked at many areas around Kissimmee. Poinciana had some great houses but it is becoming a awful area with empty lots... going down fast. We looked at all types of areas. We didn't like some of the more exclusive areas as we are not into people who are always trying to "keep up with the Jones's and are quite rude and stuck up. We finally found a couple of areas that we liked with really nice neighbourhoods and really lovely houses at great prices. We settled in a great neighbourhood in the Boggy Creek area. There are some good and bad parts there just like anywhere but we are really close to all shops and everything is close by. My wife now works at Disney and that is about half hour away. Too many people put Kissimmee down. There are many different cultures here and i find that to be no problem at all. There are varying cultures all over central Florida. Like anywhere, you must look and look until you find the neighbourhood for you but it is there and Kissimmee is a great place to live.

Hunter's Creek is very close to Kissimmee and is a very desirable neighborhood with strict police patrol, nicely maintained homes, and a strict association. You might want to consider some of the older neighborhoods in Dr Phillips just off Dr Phillips Blvd. This is one of Orlando's better areas. Take a drive down US 192 through Kissimmee and you'll see why you don't want to live in this town. It's littered with abandoned storefronts, hotels, and even apartment complexes.

Can you take your job with you? how will you continue that income? Not saying there are no good jobs in the area, but they aren't a dime a dozen.

And Kissimmee is not a good area, as soon as you get there to look around, you'll realize why people who could afford to leave, did. And the schools there are pretty well terrible, same with Davenport.

Find an area that you think you'd like and rent. You'll find out how the traffic works for or against you and the availability of shopping (groceries and malls). We moved here from Battle Creek, MI and have been happy with the move. It is a tad different living here than Michigan. IM me if you have any particular questions.

Congrats on your decision to move to sunny Florida! I am a Central Florida Realtor, I suggest that the best thing to do is to come down and drive the areas with someone you know, a friend, family, Realtor you have connected with, etc. to see how you like the surrounding areas. There are some really fantastic deals all around and you will be sure to find something great no matter which area you search. There are deals everywhere. The Kissimmee/Poinciana area have really inexpensive homes, ex: you may purchase a home that was built in 2005 for $65,000 or less. Did you check out Clermont? I live here and LOVE it! Why not check that out when you are searching the areas when you get into town, if you are not happy with the area you have chosen. Good Luck on your home search.

Don't move here, there is no quality of life here. Its nothing but a Puerto Rican GHETTO and that's all it is. The crime is high because of the drugs, burglary, and lets not forget all the Puerto Ricans. They cause a huge amount of crime because all you have to do is look at the jail and prison populations. You cant go anywhere without an obnoxious Puerto Rican pushing you out of the way or cutting you off while driving and causing car crashes, don't go anywhere in Kissimmee that involves customer service because they[Puerto Ricans] don't seem to realize that they are in those jobs to provide customer service not stand in front of you and ignore you while texting or talking on there phone and when they do finally help you its nothing but stupidity, attitude and rudeness. They won't be polite about anything because they all think theyre better than anyone. Don't go to any Walmart in Kissimmee Fl because if want good service you wont get there. ignorant, rude, obnoxious, unsanitary employees is all you're going to find.Property values in my neighborhood are in the toilet because of the Puerto Ricans. There's nothing but high traffic, speeding cars, cars parked on lawns, constant loud music, numerous osceola county sheriff raids because of drugs. There are no good areas in Kissimmee Fl at all. This city is not even a good place to vacation in its not safe anywhere and if you go to Disney for vacation and stay at a resort- good luck because its no better there either because the Puerto Rican employees that work at Disney are not any better. How do I know that- I use to work at Disney.so good luck to anyone who wants to move to Kissimmee Fl

While this post is extreme in my opinion. I have friends in Kissimmee, most of them being Puerto Ricans or Dominicans who were either born her or lived here a long time have made similar complaints. They hate Trump, but even they joke that we should tell Trump to send them back to PR because it's become so ghetto now.

They said it's night and day difference pre/post the hurricane PR migration. Many times having a bleeding heart can ruin communities. That's just the sad nature of reality at times.
