Any RR fans out there? What is up with the quality of programming on this station?

Monsters in the Morning has turned into a 4 hour infomercial. I get it that they have to bow down to whomever pays the bills, but I don't remember it being this bad. There also seems to be obvious tension in the studio between the members. Every now and then it will come out on the air and usually ends up with everyone half-heartedly apologizing for something they may or may not have said.

Secondly, how does Bucket Head get his own show?? Has anyone ever really heard this dude say a complete sentence on the air? Oddo is far more level-headed and should be the true leaders of the midday show. Bucket Head should be no more than a side-kick to interject with the occasional 'dude' comment.

Philips Phile has been consistent but Oddo did leave a void to fill that hasn't been filled. I just hope they stick to light-hearted topics. When Jim goes on his political rants, I have to turn the volume down sometimes.

Seems like the good old days are gone but there is plenty they can do to improve.

I'm waiting for ClearChannel to just pull the plug. If it happens I hope they can find a place for Bull at JRR. Buckethead used to be funny, but kind of like Stern, it got old.

I used to love 104.1 back in the day when they played music on the weekends. Lots of 80s/retro and alternative. They used to have a program that was called "sunday night vinyl"

Nowadays, I don't hear any of that anymore

Look how old these playlists are: http://www.realradio.fm/pages/sundaynightvinyl.html

Aw, come on.. The Monsters, not that exciting, but I love the Philips Phile and SBK, still. They keep me company every night on the radio. They make me laugh, and I learn things. The only thing I don't like are the stupid unrelenting commercials especially Preston, gaaaaaa

They must be doing something right though, Monsters, the BS, and the Phillips Phile are all 3 nationally syndicated on XM. I found it really interesting and cool that 3 Orlando shows from the same station WTKS, comprised the majority lineup for XM's only non-political talk channel.

Half of the jocks at JRR voicetrack or program shows that are played or syndicated nationally as well. They just don't make a big deal out of it, because these days it's really not such a big deal.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's STILL better than listening to most of the music stations and there really isn't any other competition format-wise. What I'm comparing the current state of the station to is what it was oh say 5 years ago which was a hundred times better.

That's odd because I can't find any evidence of WJRR's shows on XM or simulcast in any other cities nationwide. I will admit that JRR used to play Lex & Terry which was based out of Dallas. Other Orlando stations are guilty of this as well, but I was proud (for lack of a lesser word) that 1 station in Orlando has 3 shows nationally broadcast. That's good exposure for O-town if nothing else.

I agree, the Monsters are definitely just an infomercial now. And if they aren't plugging some weight loss product or whatever, they're constantly plugging their next event like Miss Monster.

The Buckethead show is awful. Buckethead was ok when he was on WJRR when they had music and they would just talk between songs. But listening to a whole show with him and his sidekicks is mind numbing.

And SBK is alright but I liked him better when he was with Shannon Burke.

They don't advertise it as WJRR, it's just their staff that are "on air" in other areas or programming syndicated shows. Just because you "can't find evidence of it happening" it doesn't mean it's not.
