I currently work a 9-5, but am going to be looking for something part-time to pay off some bills and save a little. I know the job market isn't great, but improving. I have waitressing experience but don't really want to do that. I was thinking of maybe doing overnight stocking at Walmart or something. Any suggestions? I live by Millenia Mall in Orlando.

I would think a pre-tax $8 an hour position at WalMart won't add up very quickly in terms of extra money. If you have experience as a server I would suck it up and look for a position at one of many restaurants near you. $15-$20 an hour take-home will go a heck of a lot further.

Thanks Kyle. Serving just wears me out completely. If I work my 9-5 and then head to the restaurant at 6...I'm stuck there until 1-2am. I'm a zombie the next day. I was hoping to maybe get into a place that has some discounts...like Target...but I don't know if it's a substantial discount or like 5%. But, I did do the math, and $8 an hour doesn't amount to much. My friend does websites and gets business once in a while, but when she does it's like $1000 a pop...I wish I could do something like that.

Over the past year, I looked for work 3 times and helped numerous laid off friends....I feel that I am really good at writing cover letters, resumes, linkedin profiles, performing job searches and could help people do that, but I wouldn't know how to start something like that. Who would trust me? Everything I know is from what I've seen in the last year and personal experience.
