Hi guys! I have been a long time stalker of this forum to find out about my own city. Some are mean and snarky, but most of you have been eye-opening and oh-so-helpful. I am hoping for the latter to help me on my quest.

I'm looking for a source, a realtor, a site, something to help me find a relatively inexpensive place to live around downtown, ViMI, Colonialtown, College Park area. I've found its about $750-900 for a decent place. It's a bit pricey for me, but I might ahve to resign. I don't even have to move till December but you never know when the place you want has a waitlist. So far, Metro City and Olde Town have been good sources. Craigslist has been a horrible failure. I feel like there should be another way to find small older homes, house turned into multi apartment places, short of driving up every street looking for signs. If you think I've exhausted my options, then thanks for the heads up in advance!

Best way is too just go into the neighborhoods and drive/walk around. Most reasonably priced places are rented out by the owners through a yard sign.

I wouldn't give up on Craigslist just yet. I found two nice places to live in Orlando, once through CL and once by calling a yard sign. I've seen some nice looking places in duplexes or older homes, close but just outside downtown, for $700-$800.
