Florida is hot, humid and moldy. This combination makes it bad for allergies for a lot of people. I don't suffer from allergies myself, but I see people suffering from it all around me. I strongly dislike the climate; it is hot all the time in the spring, summer and fall, no fun to be outdoors. I like to run, ride bicycles, hike, but it is not a pleasure here, since it is hot and sweaty from April until October. The winter has a lot of nice days, however, if there is a cold front it gets really unpleasant and windy, impossible to do something enjoyable in. The climate is very dry, except for the rainy season, during which it rains on most days in the afternoon (June, July, August). If you like water type of activities, beaches, amusement parks and shopping malls, you will be happy here, but if you like anything else, it gets boring. There is not much else to do.

I am looking for job in my area probably IT consulting: but how is the quality of life in general?
Thanks again!

When we go back to the midwest to visit family we always remark on how dry our skin and hair feels in comparison to when we are in Orlando. The humidity has its upsides. There are a couple of weeks each spring where it "pollens" which we joke is the snow of the south. Everything is covered in yellow dust. If pollen is your allergy you might want to research it.
