I'm looking at moving down to Oviedo/Lake Mary/Winter Park area and bringing a large and friendly dog with me. Which of these towns (if any) has off leash dog parks? Thanks for filling me in!

Lake Mary has been planning one but still hasn't come up with a location as of yet. Neighboring Sanford (which is an easy drive from Lake Mary) has one of the best in the country.

Winter Springs has a nice dog park called the, "Hound Ground," that is easy to get to from Lake Mary and Oviedo.

I like the one in Sanford as well.

It was supposed to go into Liberty Park, which was a great idea as it's hardly used. The funding was private versus public so it seemed a no-brainer. However since the City Council vote was back in 2008, my guess is some local activist NIMBY yelled loud enough that it was shot down.

There is a dog park on Colonial at econ (I think) or Dean. Most of the other places are with a leash. Baldwin Park has some nice walking trails and Winter Park has the weekend outings on Park Avenue where all the dogs come.

Winter park is the closest to the colonial park and IMO the nicest of the 3 places mentioned to live. It can be expensive or the homes will be older. It depends on your desired price range too.

Here is a quick outline:
Oviedo - more rural feel, best schools, priced from 200-500k
Lake Mary - a long way from town - $250-2m
Winter Park - older homes 150 -700k, newer - 500k- 8M

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it, if you see a large German Short-hair Pointer roaming the parks, be sure to say hello.

I'm not sure I would call it a long way from town as Lake Mary is a popular commutable suburb assuming of course (big assumption) that the OP would actually be working in Orlando. Secondly, Lake Mary's schools are on par with Oviedo's. Lastly, one can find nice homes starting at just under 200K in Lake Mary. I'm guessing you're a Winter Park area real estate agent?

Winter Park has a nice dog park, on the lake, but my neighbor complains that people don't clean up after their dog. I think the city is also talking about charging now too.. a bit of a fight going on about that...
