I want to take my husband for a romatic weekend away but I'm not sure where to go. I looked into Key West but between the airfare and hotel, we'd be well over $1k and that's not in our budget. It could be, but I'd rather go a lower and have some spending $$.

I'd like somewhere on or close to the beach. The room doesn't have to have a beach view though. Someplace where we could go out to walk around and sightsee and have little night life too. I've been reading that Duval St in KW is what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Try looking up Destin, Florida. Not as far and a romantic place with beautiful water. If it is still out of range, take him to lake Travis in Austin Texas. Rent a boat and go hide in a cove. Truly relaxing!!!

Thanks for the replies. I checked out both and St. Augustine doesn't seem like something for us but I do appreciate the input.

Destin looks like it could be a possiblity and will look further into it. Thanks for the Austin suggestion but I'd like to stay in Florida

You might try St. Petersburg. I adore the Don Cesar Hotel.. not sure about your budget, but it's a perfect place for a romantic getaway.

Try looking at info for the Sarasota area, specifically Siesta or Lido Key. The beaches are lovely. Sarasota

I recently stayed at the Ritz in Palm Beach (really closer to Manalapan/Lantana) and it was very relaxing. Not as pricey as you would expect either. Probably all depends on how casual and remote you want to be. I mention South Florida since you mentioned some nightlife.

Siesta Key should meet your requirements.
