Do they really have good deals? I haven't been in a long time but what I can remember they were still overpriced.

I've found one or two good deals, but overall, the pricing really isn't all that different than the sale rack at Macy's. Sometimes that sale rack item is substantially cheaper.

For men you can find really good deals on dress shirts and suits. I've also found good deals on shoes and sunglasses.

In general, I think they are really geared towards tourists. The best sales can be had at the garden variety malls like Milennia or FL Mall when places like Macy's Dillards and JCP have their sales and you combine them with coupons.

Consider JCP recently, I walked out with 2 wrinkle-free dress shirts and a tie for $23 after using a coupon on some of their clearance sales.

You are right. JC Penny oftentimes has those $10 off $25 or $30 coupons that come in handy. Kohl's has them too.

IZOD has fantastic sales, much lower than the major dept. stores. My other shopping is done at Kohl's, Penney's and Bealls. These places always have coupons and Kohl's has "cash backs". Get a Kohl's charge card and you get sent coupons every two weeks. Some are scratch offs and I've gotten 30% off everything through those. Penney's, about once a month, have $10 back on a $25 purchase. Kohl's and Bealls have 15% off on Senior Days.

it all depends on what brands you are buying

in my experience....

regular price at an outlet will usually beat regular price at a retail store.

a sale at a retail store will usually match or sometimes beat a regular price at an outlet

a sale at an outlet will usually beat most prices (whether onsale or not) at a retail store.

a clearance at either a store or an outlet is a wild card as whether or not a retail store or an outlet would be cheaper is dependent on how fast the store needs to liquidate their inventory and what sizes and styles remain available.

So does Macy's which has incredible sales with/without coupons and it's not off-brand shopping.

I have a Macy's charge card and I've never been sent any coupons from them. Of course I seldom get there anyway since it's not close by.
