Hello
I am relocating from NYC to Orlando. I have been looking at rental units at Mosaic and Park Central. After some research I am scared !
Does anyone know how Heritage on Millenia condos are - safety wise?

Anyone know of other gated communities I should look at?

Thanks for your help.

You do not want to live anywhere near that Millenia Mall. Is there a reason why you would need to live in that area? Where will you be working? This way people can recommend a more suitable place to live.

Heritage on Millenia is where my wife and I landed while looking for housing when we came here from ATL. It's safe, and the residents are fine, but know that you will be living in a glorified college dorm. The crowd is basically 100% 18 to 23 year olds. I'm 31 and feel like an old man there.

Basically, my wife and I do CRAZY things like sleep at night and work during the day...that does not seem to be the norm there, so don't be surprised by the "party at my place" atmosphere.

Other than that, the Millenia area is not a good place to live. It is surrounded on all 4 sides by ghetto. Gas stations, dry cleaners, post office, all of the little things you never think about are downright nasty.

But if safety is your only concern, in that 1/4 square mile zone, you should be fine.

Thanks everyone ! I am starting a business with a friend who lives in zipcode 32811 but will be moving to College Park. She thought this would be fine for me since I want a gated community. But seems I need to look far far away from here.

How is College Park? I hear Lake Mary is safe & nice but she says its to far from where she is going.

I am so confused ! Any ideas anyone?

Maybe I should just forget the whole thing !

There has been a lot of crime in the Millenia & Metro West areas...not where you want to be.

You may want to try neighborhoods like Stoneybrook East, Avalon Lakes...This is SE Orlando...Many neighborhoods near off Alafaya are nice & safer than Millenia...

Rent yourself a nice little home in Winter Park. It's great over there.

Anywhere close to campus. Rollins College

Look up the address and mapquest it next to Rollins. Also, go on Craigslist orlando apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist and search for homes in Winter Park, Thornton Park, Baldwin Park, Lake Eola, Windermere, Dr. Phillips and Lake Mary.

Nice places are out there, you just have to find them.

Happy hunting!
