I've never been and a friend of mine are thinking of going.

Has anyone been there? Is it worth the money and the hype?

Yes, no, maybe?

I think OrlFlaUsa thought you were referring to the Universal Studios Hollywood's version of Halloween Horror Nights. Your thread name is a little confusing. There's no Hollywood in the name in the Orlando version

Anyway, I've been once so far; only did two houses and enjoyed them. I can't wait to experience the rest because from what I've heard it's really good. I'm a huge HHN fan and this will be my 5th time going since 2005. If you're a fan of incredible production values and a really fun, scary night, it is definitely worth it. It's been called the best Halloween event in the country and I believe it. My friends that are in college fly back home from around the country specifically for it each year.

I haven't been for a few years, only because of scheduling conflicts. I had a blast and everyone I talk to about it really enjoys it.

It is the biggest and best event of its type in the country. If you enjoy walk-through haunted house attractions then you will love it. Even just walking around the park is an experience.

How old are you and your friend?
How much do you appreciate the horror genre?

I have been. Maybe it's worth it.

I went several years ago, not too long after the much hyped (and still pretty awesome) Mummy ride opened. The COOL thing about the horror attractions were that every one was focusing on them I was able to get in an on the Mummy in a matter of a few minutes. Now think about the fact the first positive thing I can think about HHN is riding the normal rides more easily as a plus. Then forget it because horror is not my thing.

Yeah it's somewhat scary, or as scary as you will allow yourself to be scared. To me, knowing that there there was nothing that was actually going to hurt me there un-did almost the whole thing except for the people who jumped out at the few genuinely unexpected places.

Go experience it and judge for yourself. That's the ONLY way to REALLY know if it's worth it.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando is one of my favorite times of the year. Be warned, it is intense.
