Orlando among worst large cities with college graduates

But since being intellectual is possible without a college degree, I'm not sure if Orlando has any intellectuals. I certainly haven't met any and I'd bet a month's worth of debit card fees that there aren't many.
If paying a fee for using a debit card is what an intellectual does, then I'm happy being being an uneducated, unskilled, low wage, service industry homer.

That's Windermere ... and I never claimed to be an intellectual, just an observant realist that calls them as I see them.

Orlando is middle of the road. Rather than ask in a forum like this, look at percentages of degree attainment and compare to other cities and compare to the national average. We tend not to fair as well as many larger cities and NE cities, but pretty well in the sunbelt and by standards of the South.

Well said. The question leads to many interpertations.
A city in itself cannot be or not be "intellectual."
There are many intelligent, highly educated, and high achieving indivuduals in the city, and well as low achieving and poorly educated ones.

I really don't understand the point of the post. Stats are easily available online, and anything else is pretty much subjective.

On a scale of all decent size cities in the U.S. I would venture a guess that Orlando is pretty much in the middle.

No......low wage jobs, touristy area guarantees there won't be a silicon valley south anytime soon. UCF is pumping out grads at a pretty good pace so maybe as a percentage of growth it may look promising.
IMO it is one of the least desirable areas in Florida. You are over an hour from either coast (Daytona/Tampa) and it is just a tourist geared area (outlet malls, hotels, theme parks). Heck even Tiger Woods moved out of there!

Areas like Charlotte have become banking HQ's and brought a lot of ancillary businesses with them. Orlando has that same market but travel/tourist related and unfortunately the ancillary businesses are not high caliber......"company uniform, free headset, name badge" are all benefits for working here in addition to park/meal passes!

How much time have you spent in Orlando in areas around downtown and Winter Park?

You are not over an hour from the east coast. It takes less than 1 hour to get to Cocoa Beach from downtown Orlando going the speed limit.
