How much xtra does sink hole insurance cost to add to your reg. homeowners policy with comprehensive coverage on home? Meaning if any damage is done from sinkhole all types are covered?
Thanks

It depends on the area you live in and how many claims have been made in that area. When we looked at homes I called the state rep. for sink holes and the engineer I chatted with gave me a good list of things to consider when buying a home. He said to stay out of the Tampa area and Jacksonville was have problems with saltwater intrusion. Orlando area was doing well because they were more agressive in controlling the use of water the last 25 years.

I believe you are covered under catastrophic ground calapse (which is part of your regular poliy) even if you are in an area where they will not give you sinkhole coverage. However I am not claiming to be an insurance rep. I just know that is how my insurance is set up.
