We are planning a trip to Lake Mary to look for neighborhoods and houses.
We are looking for a neighborhood with lots of kids, larger yards, trees..., that offers houses in the 400-500k range. We don't like cookie-cutter developments, and would prefer to be in the Lake Mary High school district.

I noticed that houses in the area around Seminole College appear to be less expensive and have often larger yards. Is that a good area?

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Default Lake Mary has great neighborhoods!

I can't believe anyone hasn't responded to this...LM is a family-friendly community. You will find many neighborhoods that fit your description. Check out the areas off Lake Emma road like Huntington Pointe/Ridge/Landing, Brentwood Club and off Greenway blvd like Silver Lake. Hidden Cove is absolutely gorgeous (gated, lots of families) but I think those houses are more like the 600-800 range. Good luck!

PS - I just noticed you mentioned the area around SCC - great area too. A good mix of newer and older neighborhoods. Check out Woldonn, a community off Country Club rd/Main Rd, MeadowBrooke. Good luck

Thanks for all the feedback. We just got back from Lake Mary. At first it seemed a little too metropolitan to us (we are coming from the Florida Keys) but we ended up liking it and are probably going to move there once we find a suitable house. So far, we really liked the Lake Mary Woods, Cardinal Oaks and surrounding areas, but we'll have to come back and look around a little more.

I use Google maps (My Maps) and activate the real estate search feature. This shows you available houses in the areas, along with prices etc. It allows you to get a feel for style and price range within certain areas

We are considering investing in a Class A apartment complex in Lake Mary. Can anyone help me with how the economy is doing in this area? Would it support another apartment complex? Thanks
