However there are signs stating "Slower Traffic Keep Right". It's also known as old-fashioned courtesy to not sit in the left lane driving the same speed as cars in other lanes while traffic jams up behind you. Why are so many drivers so passive-aggressive?

You won't have to worry about fast drivers starting in 2014 ...

I-4 widening, new toll lanes could begin in 2014 | www.wftv.com

Sometimes is extremely difficult to move over to the right with all the traffic. I rarely encounter a person who's going well under the limit anyway. Most are at least following the posted 65 or 70, and the right lane is there if you need it.

Thank god they aren't hijacking existing lanes to do that, but rather adding new ones

Miami did this a few years back on I-95, but they hijacked the HOV lane IIRC.

Doesn't really matter, traffic will slow to a crawl as construction takes over. I lived in Boston during the "Big Dig" and talk about a traffic nightmare ...

I have been down here about two years now after having lived my whole life in the NY/NJ area. My impression here is that lifestyle does have something to do with the driving ability or lack of here in the Orlando area. Back north people are generally in a hurry (even if they are on time) and the driving reflects it. People are impatient when driving and if we can get there faster by driving in the left lane five to ten miles more then the posted speed limit then let us take our chances with getting a speeding ticket. That is what the left lane is for and people from NY/NJ understand that. So if you want to do the speed limit or yap on your phone or even worse text someone please get in the right lane. I don't know how many times I have passed someone on I-4 driving as if they are the only car on the road to see the driver deeply immersed in a conversation on the phone. Very scary. Why isn't phoning and texting in a car illegal in Florida. Think of the revenue to be collected.

It's great that they're widening around 20 years late but see no mention of rectifying the ridiculous I-4 to 408 merge. How was that ever considered a good idea?
