Three times as many people die as a result of a homicide in homes with guns versus those without and the same margin applies to suicide rates, as a result the "protection of one's family" argument seems to lose relevancy. Have you considered a security system?

A home security systems is much more expensive than a gun. Besides, a home security system can be bypassed by smart crooks - don't you ever watch the movies? A gun in the hand isn't called a Peacemaker for nothing. Just because some people abuse them shouldn't mean the rest of us should go without.

You defend your home as you see fit, as will I. The right to bear arms was still a second amendment right the last I checked.

The ramifications of owning a gun have far more expenses attached if one becomes a statistic and because someone marketed it as a "Peacemaker" doesn't make it so as actual statistics point out. I also think you can rest assured that the make-believe burglars in the movies aren't going to be targeting your home anytime soon either.

Thanks to weak definition of the Second Amendment (which was meant to apply to Revolutionary War-era militia) and zillions of dollars in lobbying by the NRA, yes it is still somehow considered legal.

Factually, yes, there is a higher instance of homicide and suicide in homes with firearms. I wonder if there is a higher instance of homicide and suicide in homes with cutlery sets, poisons under the kitchen sink and gas stoves?

Cutlery sets and gas stoves are kind of ridiculous comparisons, dontcha' think?

Furthermore most folks with any reasonable sense have figured out that in homes with small children not to keep toxic items unsecured under the sink (or elsewhere). OK, never mind..I just used the term reasonable sense.

Next topic?

Have you considered minding your own business and not pushing your political agenda with every post you make ? Or are you trying to win the C-D prize for most helpful poster ?

Not a ridiculous comparison at all. Anyone can use any weapon to harm another. Folks with any reasonable sense secure their weapons and and use them for their intended purpose.

An adult can poison another adult with items from under the sink .

So what is your point?
