I would not recommend Poinciana. The schools there aren't very good, lots of bad kids there, a majority of people who live in Poinciana are low wage Disney employees who drive 30+ miles to work every day. Poinciana is in the middle of cow and swamp country, its a "master-planned" community in the middle of nowhere

If you must live in Osceola County, and seeing you are both in the medical field, I would highly recommend looking into the town of Celebration. Its a much nicer, upper-class very well kept community. Though Celebration High School is not very good either, lots of kids bussed in from Poinciana and Liberty High Schools

Take a look into the Hunters Creek, Meadow Woods areas, as well as Lake Nona, Waterford Lakes, and Avalon Park areas in Orange County. These areas have much better schools and much friendlier people than Osceola County does

Also look into the communities of Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, Maitland, Winter Springs, and Oviedo. These areas are the best of the best, lots of professional people in these areas as well as great schools.

Note:With the exception of Maitland and Winter Park, the last communities I mentioned are all in Seminole County

BTW, what part of SoCal do you live in? I used to spend a lot of time in LA when I lived in Las Vegas

As a resident of Poinciana, I have to say that your observations don't match what I see on a daily basis. Tinofborg, feel free to PM and I can give you the straight story as a longer term homeowner here in Poinciana.

As you are in the medical field, did you know that Poinciana will be breaking ground on a new hospital very shortly? Could make for a very nice, short commute to work
