Hi everyone I'm not sure if this has already been answered in previous threads..i tried to go through as many as I could..

Anyways, I'm graduating from college this semester and moving to Orlando for a new job. I'm trying to find an apartment in Downtown Orlando..2 bedrooms/2 bath. I'm looking for Something not too expensive (I realize this might be difficult to find in the downtown area), furnished, close to public transportation. I don't want to spend more than $600 or $700...If this isn't doable where would you suggest near downtown that would be safe?

Help, pleaaase =/

I highly doubt you will find a 2 bed/bath/furnished in a decent part of downtown for 600-700. The studios alone, unfurnished are going for about $1000+. To be realistic, I dont think you will find anything desirable in that price range in the Orlando area. If you like crime and the possibility of getting mugged while waiting for the bus then that 600-700 price range will not be a problem!

Unfortunately, you will not find what you are looking for in your price range. Your options would be to get a 1br further out or find a roomate to stay closer to dt.

Maybe the Conway area. I'm not too familiar with that side of town. I don't think I'd call it nice but not dangerous. Maybe others can chime in on that.

If I were you, I would get a roommate. If you went in with someone who also had the same kind of budget you could get a place downtown.

You also mentioned public transportation. Does this imply that you don't have a car? There's not much here in terms of that. Right now, we only have the Lynx bus system which I've never personally used but I've heard some scary stories. Honestly, this is not a city to not have your own car.

Thank you for the suggestion! I actually do have a car so I guess public transportation isn't that important, especially if it isn't safe.

How much does one need to make realistically to live in downtown Orlando?

You can rent a small closet to live in at City View for under $1300 I think. I know there are two 1br 1ba at The Grand right now at right around the $1000 price point. The Grand has parking included. The Aspire probably has some wonderful closets to live in, though I don't know how much they cost.

These places are very "They don't server my kind" and my Mitsubishi being in the parking lot, they'd assume I was there to clean the drains or some other menial prole task. It takes more than the rent to play rich.
