I am evaluating a new job possibility in Kissimmee. I understand the issues others have raised with the weather, diversity, taxes, elder care, payscales and school lunches and overall school quality.

I am looking for a moderate home (no mc-mansions) in a fairly rural area, within a reasonable time/$ commute of Kissimmee, that has a good small town community/feel, minimal crime, and a good school for a rural area. I have lived in LA, Toronto, NY, Philly, DC, so a "short" commute to me is anything less than 30 minutes.

My primary need beyong the home is trailer parking and as large a workshop/garage building that can be found. So more land is better than less. I don't mind nature, so crocs, ants, flying bugs, horses, deer, and any other creature with more than 2 legs doesn't bother me. Its only the 2 legged variety I seem to find fault with, at times.

I am single with no dependents . My primary hobbies are SCCA racing, car restoration, and scuba. I plan on spending a lot of time at the tracks in sebring, moroso, and daytona.

Looking at the map, something south of Kissimmee along I-4/17/92 or 523/192 looks suitable, but I don't know anything about those areas.

Please advise on towns/zips that I should consider looking at. If you feel the need to lecture me on some topic , then so be it, but please send me the lecture at src@seductive.com, and do not post here. I'll listen to what you have to say, but please don't burden others.

Thanks
-Scott

You sound like my kinda Guy! I'll be doing a quick search for you ASAP and mailing you over what may be available in the area.

Good zips to look at in Osceola County are:
Kissimmee 34747 - West Osceola, Celebration Area - called the Four Corners
Kissimmee 34746 - Pleasant Hill Road area or North Poinciana Blvd -This is not considered Poinciana and there are a lot of Vacation rentals in this area though but it is still a nice area with nice homes but the traffic is getting pretty bad.
St. Cloud 34771, 34772 - Eastern St. cloud which includes the Narcoossee Road and Hickory Tree Road area and Harmony. This is an up and coming area. Some parts are very rural.

Of the list above I would say Eastern St. Cloud would probably fit your list of criteria the best and it would not be a long commute to Kissimmee or Southern Orlando.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Since more land is better than less I would suggest St Cloud but I don't know about the schools. Good Luck
