Did this already happen? If not, I'm sure downtown businesses will be happy with this news, along with Ed Hardy and Armani outlet stores.

Stay classy Orlando.

MTV has already denied this will happen, but this would not be the first time they have denied filming in a city to avoid any leaks. But as someone who lives, works and plays downtown I would suspect if they were filming in Orlando I would have seen the camera crews following the "7 strangers" around already. It would only make sense that they would stay somewhere downtown and I haven't seen any camera crews yet. But who knows?!?!

The Real World has been to every major city in the US and several abroad. I don't think it is any sort of knock on Orlando's class to have it here.

Lots of those cities are smaller or similar in size, population, and even popularity than Orlando. Perhaps it has something to do with Orlando's "national image" or whatnot. I do agree that DT Orlando would be the perfect setting for this type of show as bars like Chillers and Makos fit the MTV demographic very well. Matter of fact MTV has featured Makos before and have used Orlando in other types of shoots, just not Real World.

Sorry guys, after some internet research looks like we lost out to St. Thomas/Virgin Islands. However, it appears MTV may be filming another reality series here called "Wake Brothers" following around two Wake Board Champs/Bro's from Longwood.

Lots? Can't wait to hear that list. New Orleans, Las Vegas and Austin are the only three I can see as close in terms of size or population (if factoring the infamous Orlando sprawl), but less popular? Me thinks not.

But can they do a whole season in Orlando? I lived there before, I can't imagine that they can fill a whole season with all the things to do in Orlando. Btw, Knowledgeiskey, do you live down there now? If so when did you leave NY?

Stay classy Orlando.

I hope not. Let other cities have that flavorless show.

Are you kidding me? They could literally go to a different bar and club every night (which is all they do anyways, usually at the same 3 or 4 tired clubs each season). Reno a sweet Thornton Park pad for the 7 strangers, unleash them on the DT Orlando nightlife scene, give them the obligatory fake job in the marketing department at one of the big theme parks (or something equally cool), and there you have the Real World O-town. Speaking of O-town, Orlando did just fine back in the early 2000's as the setting for the first incarnation of Making the Band.
