Another piece of advice to those who carry...

Be careful about getting on a forum and openly talking about how you'd handle a shooting situation, or when you think it's ok to shoot and how to shoot someone...and anything remotely related to this. If you do find yourself in the bad situation of having to defend yourself by shooting someone, and you actually do shoot them, you're going to be in a world of legal headaches. With that comes the scum-sucking attorneys who will try to find every shred of "bad" about you. This includes talking about the things mentioned here.

One can easily search my posts and see that I most certainly do take part of gun conversations...but I will never hint at how to shoot someone or pass strong opinions on how to interpret a law. Also, you won't find me touting about what I may or may not own for numerous reasons.

Just my recommendation for discussing gun things online. There's always a trail left behind you.

hi, i am a convicted felon with a prior gun charge also (served 32 months ,96 t0 ,99) and cant be near a gun or have access to it. if you know you were a convicted felon and you know that you signed that paper in court, then just because you got them to give you a weapon legally , doesnt mean you can possess it legally. you possessed it knowing your a convicted felon.
im am scared to death of the 10-20-life , and thats what i would get, if i caught with a weapon.
i also had a friend that was pulled over(2001) and asked to have his car search by the officer and then had found a steak knife under his seat, which he used to strip wires during an stereo installation upgrade , and just forgot about it. he was arrested for conceald weapon. and was unable to beat the charge.
there pretty rough down here in SW fl. i hope in Orlando that they maybe more leanyent than here, though i would think it would be 10 20 life, i wish you all the best with your case.
PS. CFRC is in orlando

Default Concealed weapon's permit

There is a class at the orange county fair grounds that's $140 for class, range time, passport photo, finger printing and notary. You still have to pay the $75 state fee but its cheaper than you think and they go over everything there. Here's the link: Florida Gun Shows - Guns, Knives & Fun

This is where i got my concealed permit and it was painless. They pretty much do everything for you and all you do is put up the cash and follow along then send in your paper work. Hope this helps

i thought about putting one in my vehicle, but i am worried about the 3 step rule and if i understand it exactly. on the other hand, in your own home, you can shoot if they are inside your house, so you can "blow their f-n knee caps off"

Guns are terrible. We should have gun control. So some goon gets mad at somebody and shoots them dead! How pathetic, how evil. I'm a conservative so don't start the liberal crap. America is not at WAR. We don't need guns. Hopefully people can act like normal adults and get along.

Well in a perfect world yes gun control would be great, the problem is gun control only takes guns away from the good guys. If you could find a way to magically take all the guns away from everyone than this fanciful idea of gun control would be more practical. I personally do not carry a gun but the more people who do the safer I feel, because I believe that most people are genuinely good.

Exclamation Confused. URGENT

Hi, I am convicted of aggravated assault in the state of florida. out of lakeland. I was charged with a felony, and it was knocked down to a misdo minor. but i am now living in maine. about a year ago i purchased a hand gun through a dealer at a gun shop. i waited my three days through the ATF and was approved. NOW here is the question. am i legally aloud to bring my handgun to Florida and purchase fire arms in Florida? NOW MOST STATES wont let you own anything gun related if you have been charged with any type of assault. I am confused because my step father "ex cop" told me the only reason i was able to buy a handgun was because my conviction was in Florida. not in Maine, since the two do not connect i was able to go forth in the approved purchase. If anyone has any answers could you please inform me, thank you
P.s. also what is the carry law there? here in Maine i can legally holster a handgun on my side "uncovered" and loaded. without a CWP "concealed weapon permit".

There is no open carry in Florida (yet) so you won't get to walk around pretending to be in the Wild West here, sorry. You can get a CWP here but not sure if your conviction will prevent that. Wait were your even convicted or just charged? I would think the difference between the 2 are paramount in this discussion. Also why not just stock up on guns before leaving Maine and bring them to Florida. There is no registry for gun ownership so you'd at least be able to own them.

First you'll need to get your Concealed Carry License, $75 classes required can be taken through most firearms dealers. Second get License via Dept of Agriculture $125. Most classes will give you all info. What happens if you deliver a pizza to a school, police station, government building etc where your are not permitted? You'll need to know these Statues and laws. You might want to consider carrying pepper spray even if you do carry a firearm as you will not be pulling this firearm on unarmed people wrestling over a $10 pizza. Showing the weapon or firing warning shots to intimidate will go wrong for you unless in an absolute life or death situation. Then in those situations as in your home why would you aim for knee caps? Are they only threatening to take half your life? You dont aim a gun at something you dont plan to destroy, thats what pepper spray and tazers are for. If you were carjacked at gun point then forced to drive to a wooded or remote area are you going to tickle the bad guy into submission by aiming for knee caps and big toes?
