I heard earlier that West Oaks is closing at the end of this year. Is this true? If so, what are your thoughts?

I haven't heard that, but it wouldn't exactly be a shock. I haven't been there in a long time, but I know it's gone seriously downhill with crime and the like in recent years. If it's torn down I won't miss it.

What would they do with it if it closes? That's a lot of space.

I heard Valencia College wants to buy it for class space. Don't know how true that is though.

It was a nice mall when it opened...I went there when I needed a "small" mall and Altamonte when I needed a 'real' mall.

It's sad to see it go.

I remember the grand opening. It used to be crowded the first couple of years it was opened. The worst thing that it done was open AMC. AMC attracted a lot of teenagers during the weekends. But hey, I was one of them. Good times

Mall has been on the decline for years. Would not be surprised.

It wouldn't surprise me. I went when it first opened, but I won't go now. Too much crime and not many good stores in there. I don't think it would be a loss if it went out of business.

I hope this isn't true. I don't want those crazy people in Pine Hills coming to my side of town. I cant make this comment seem positive, sorry. I just prefer to keep the "Mess" where it is.

And Yes I'd prefer Winter Garden Village over this mall. Nice area. As long as they don't bring in a movie theater, they'll be okay. I'm so glad Florida Mall or Mellinia didn't bring in movie theaters. Seems as though all the malls in Orlando with movie theaters have issues.
