Does orlando ever feel "cold" to those who transplanted from the north? (Westchester: live, move)

Or do those of you from new england and the upper midwest regions, now in central florida just wear shorts all year long?

I grew up in upstate NY, lived in Siberacuse for a few years, so I know cold. And I get cold down here. Not wrap yourself in cashmere and wool cold, but cold enough that I wear long pants, socks, shoes, thermal shirts, sweaters, etc. And in the evening on the coldest nights I wear my winter coat and glavoes when I walk the dog. Orlando isn't tropical, it gets cold here. I've seen it snow once, and I've seen light frost many times

Being from Westchester\Southern Connecticut, I have yet to be cold to the point of physical discomfort here in FL. In fact, last winter we had a night or two dip into the 20's (with the wind chill), and I loved it!

I'm a native and dont even think it gets "cold" often enough. I have however met many people from up north and I guess they hate the cold so much that they never want it to get cold ever again.

You just described me...lol...I think it has been a little chilly a few nights...but I have only been here since July, so I can't say just yet

I just cant understand that - going from one extreme to another. I dont like the constant heat and humidity of FL, but I certainly dont want to run to Alaska. A place like NC or even North GA would be ideal, best of both worlds. Seasons, but not too cold for so long, and not too hot for so long.

I get cold here, but it's definately bearable. Honestly, I sometimes wish it would stay a bit cooler longer and I don't like the cold. I'd like to see the seasons.

^^^It is like going from one extreme to the next when you move from up North. My next move will hopefully be NC next.

I think its the humidity that makes the temperature seems so much colder - far colder than the same temperature here in MN.

40 degrees in Orlando feels cooler to me than 40 degrees in Asheville NC. Drier air in NC and not the humid air we have down here in FL.
