Hi.

I'm a UCF Graduate moving back to Orlando area for a New Job, and need some advice what city to live in around the Orlando area and Apartment Advice (Heathrow, Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Sanford)?

I'm looking for an area with Professional Singles in there Mid-30's like me, relatively safe area, good commuting distance to Lake Mary for my new Job, newer 1 bedroom apartment around the $700-800, good shopping/restaurants. (Not interested in the Downtown Orlando Rush Hour Commute).

Thanks.

Unless you never left campus when you were at UCF, shouldn't you know the answer to this question?

Lake Mary and Sanford (the west side near the mall or west of I-4) would be your best bet. Colonial Grand at Town Park, Colonial Grand at Lake Mary and Lake's Edge (Sanford) would be my recommendations for complexes to check out. All are close to the nightlife at the Colonial Town Park complex at I-4 and 46-A, as well as the 417 Expressway so you're not always dependent on I-4's unpredictable traffic.

I'd like to add Notting Hill in Heathrow as well.

I liked all the newer complexes(all 3 Colonials, Legends, Pure Living, etc) I visited in Lake Mary + Heathrow but none were in the $700-$800/month range. You're looking at $950 to $1100/month. Valet trash, water, sewage, electricity are often extra and most require renters insurance also.

I was hoping for $1000/month all inclusive, but realize $1300/month might be more reasonable.

That's true but there are specials where they give a month off or if you sign a slightly longer lease that'll bring it down or close to that price range.

The town homes are usually less than apartments but the apartments run specials once in a while.

None of them offered me that. They only offered to waive the app fee, reduce the deposit to zero, and that's about it. 18 month leases drop the price $50 but some refuse that duration because they know they can raise the rent sooner. Lake Lily / Q are my third choices and both in th $1100 range. Thankfully there are vacancies everywhere so I can be a slow decider.

For the $800 price range, try Park at Vineridge. Not the best complex but it appears to be decent.
