Hey guys. The hubs and I were talking about finding a nice chill place to get a drink and become regulars at in Clermont as well as a nice cafe to frequent. Any thoughts on comfy pub/bar and a nice cafe in the 34711 zip code or close to it?

A few places. There's a nice wine bar that also has a terrific selection of beers on Montrose downtown. Wines of the World--nice owners, too.

Also Grafitti Junktion in the plaza on the hill on the opposite side of 27 from the movie theater and JC Penney's.

Both are locally owned and operated by Clermont residents, so the money you spend here, stays here.

Not exactly a pub type atmosphere but I've always wanted to check out this place up in Clermont
Tiki Bar - Minneola, FL

Haven't been to it yet obviously so I can't say much for it but the open atmosphere looks similar to some places in Key West that I used to frequent and enjoy.

One thing to caution about the Tiki Bar is that they allow smoking everywhere. If you're a smoker and don't mind a chimney next to you while you eat, you'll like it. But if you are a non-smoker, avoid it like the plague.

My husband is a smoker so he might actually enjoy this. Though I'm hoping he'll not be smoking by the time we get down there. But that sounds really fun.

And thanks for the ideas! I'll put them on my googlemap =D We were looking for locally owned places, so I'm glad you said that. We're hoping to really become part of the community, put down roots and all.

I don't see Wines of the World anywhere on the map. I see Vineyards of the World though...Do you have an address? That's got to be it...on Montrose St.

Any thoughts on cafe's other than Starbucks? Not that I don't like Starbucks, but I'd like to check out a local small business. I checked out the Clermont cafe on google maps...it looks a bit seedy =P

There used to be a Barnie's that was run by a sweet Sottish couple, unfortunately they have closed.

Clermont Cafe has been closed the last couple times I've driven by it, I think that might be permanent.

The owners of Vineyards of the World have been talking about opening a coffee shop downtown someplace, probably very close to their location. I'm not sure how far they've gotten on that plan.
