I'm looking at buying a vacation home in the Orlando area, and two of the homes I'm looking at are in these neighborhoods. Can anyone offer advice about which to choose? The Southern Dunes home is older, which worries me a little since we live out of state. Calabay Parc's HOA concerns me. I don't know how to find out about their financial standings, and the dues seem high.

What do you know about these two areas? TIA

If I'm not mistaken, Southern Dunes is quite a bit further away from the action down in the Haines City area. If you are planning on renting the home, this could be a deterrent.

how can I find out about Calabay's "buy in"? I guess I'm a little naive, because I don't know about this!
