Basically The schools in the areas that we have all mentioned in Orange and Seminole counties are pretty much on the same page. Orange county often gets a bad rep because it does have some fairly poor achieving schools non of winch are in the areas that we mentioned. The fact of the mater is that OCPS has over 180,000 kids while SCPS has over 60,000 therefore Orange has three times the population. So if you were to take the schools from areas like Dr Phillips, Windemere, Winter garden, Winter park, Downtown Orlando, and lake Nona. If you were to add those up they would equal about Seminole and would have about the same Grade averages if not better. Seminole is just blessed with a good rep sheet because it is pretty much suburban county.

Here is my 2 cents worth of comments. We live in Village Walk at Lake Nona . My wife works at the airport for the airline that LUV’s to fly everywhere. It takes her less than 16 minutes from home to the Employee parking at the airport with NO tolls. I am retired so I get to stay home and enjoy the birds and the beautiful area. There are walkways that have dog stations, they all lead to the central area where there are tennis courts, basketball and that stuff young people seem to like. There is NO crime, if fact the last listing on the police report about three months ago was a solicitor, one of our friends joked they probably got a Girl Scout trying to sell cookies. If you would like to see, here are some pictures from our yard: http://www.lcole.net

I'm born and raised in the Conway (32812) area. No more than 10 minutes from the airport. 15 minutes away from downtown. Safe area yet not expensive.

Shenandoah Elementary, Conway Middle, and Boone High School are all rated 'A' or 'B'.

I live in Oviedo and it's a great area. I don't have kids but I've heard wonderful things about the school system here. Oviedo has also been voted among the top 100 cities to live in the country, several times I think. I love it here, it's affordable and I believe it's only about 20 minutes to the airport. It's the fun of living in Orlando without actually living in Orlando.

Take this with a grain of salt though because I'm a student at UCF which is obviously different than raising a family here.
