We are in Orlando,Fl on the county side and my daughter is now attending Kaley elementary. I keep hearing that Blankner is the school to be in, why is this? I come from a private school system and can not truly see what is the difference between public schools. Besides the grade they give out in great schools ( which I am also skeptical of maybe they are just teaching for an exam). If there is anyone knowledgeable with both schools I would so very much appreciate a true and sincere answer. My family will have to make a decision come this fall on which school to go to.
Just FYI I do know that we have to live in the city side and the school district area.
Thanks

Kaley made some improvements over the last year, but they had some issues... not just scores, but discipline problems from what I understand.

Blankner is a K-8 (whereas Kaley is a standard K-5) and has a very active PTA. The zone is fairly small and pulls from a tight area, so a lot of the parents know each other from outside of school. Additionally, Blankner benefits from being next door to Boone High (music program, for example).

The biggest difference is the K-8 vs K-5 program.

From my understanding blankner is alot bigger about four times bigger, and of course is a K-8 school so your kids are there longer. The test scores are also a lot higher at Blankner, But I think they are improving at Kaley rapidly. Kaley is more diverse.
