The "lack" of stores every block and mile is what makes Windermere so special and unique. For everyone that does not like this lack of shopping PLEASE move to any of the other 1000 communities around Orlando that look the same and let one lousy development in Orlando stay pure. Live with the fact you have to drive a little distance to go out to dinner.....let Dr Phillips have restaurant row. The chain of lakes blocks good access to and from Windermere and this will never change but it has allowed this pocket of Orlando to stay almost violent crime free and so nice to drive through = relaxing.

More shopping is not going to bring violence! As far as driving, maybe through the "town" of Windermere, it might be relaxing, but along 535 in Windermere, there is major traffic so that is not "relaxing". This area could EASILY support more shopping and it would make it very convenient for all of us not to have to trek to Clermont or wherever.

Thru Windermere takes *forever*...between the roundabouts and the beauty of the area which has everyone slowing down to look. Can't imagine what it must be like at Christmas!

Do you seriously "trek" to Clermont to shop?

That is funny ! Good job Mr I.

The funny thing is the dozens of people I associate with in the area all picked it because it had so much green space and was peaceful.....it did not have a bunch of strip malls, gas stations and food places. Unfortunately a few move to the area for the peaceful settings and then want to be able to drive less then 1 mile to a McDonalds, grocery store and gas station. Please let one small group of people have an area that does not look like everywhere else.....there are so many other ares you can chose to live in the Orlando area that meet your needs (Clermont being one of them :-).
