Hi, so as the title says, I'm really thinking about making the move down to FL. I have a stable job with good pay, it allows me to transfer. I have a few questions.........

I would be working in the Orlando Airport, what areas are close enough to drive to the airport? I'm looking for nice areas close enough to get to work but a distance from all the chaos of the theme parks.

I have a child, what schools should I look at, as this is one reason keeping me from the move.

I have so many more questions but let's just start from here.

Thanks!

Oviedo (O-vee-do) would be a good option for you, it's an easy commute via the 417 Toll. The schools are among the top few in the area and it's a safe, family-friendly area that's not congested with tourists and sprawl development.

Oviedo is nice and so is the Waterford Lakes/Avalon Park area however taking the 417 would make you broke
quickly. I am new to Orlando myself and am currently looking for housing and have shifted my focus from
those areas to Winter Park/Maitland/Altamonte Springs. Close to I4 with no Tolls. Not sure how bad
the Davenport area is but I see housing for cheap in that area. It's to far for me as I work in the UCF area.

Conway, belle isle, delaney park, downtown south would be closest area in good school district. Winter Park wouod be the next closest. Dr Phillips would be a close drive as well but its pretty much in the tourist corridor.

Kyle, I love how you spelled out the pronunciation. We didn't know how to pronounce it when we first moved here. To the OP, yes Oviedo has good schools and would be easy access to the airport.
