My alma mater is playing UCF on September 28th. I am wondering if any part of the stadium will get any afternoon shade? I don't mind sitting on the home side as long as I'm not baking in the sun.

I'm almost positive it will be an afternoon game because it will be televised.

Any seating advice? Thanks!

I dont think there is any shade in the whole stadium. It is a very very open stadium...

There is no cover in the stadium and it is not very high so I wouldnt expect any shade.

Not necessarily, most of the weekday games are played at night which makes shade a moot point. Also, by midway through the season when the weather cools down, it's actually very nice at the games. The only times it's a little uncomfortable is the first few noon games. The November games are actually very nice.

*Just reread your original post. That should be a great game, I am planning to go see the South Carolina Jadaveon Clowneys as well. Hopefully it's an afternoon or night game.

Your best bet is near the Roth Tower (Sections 209-211, or if you want the pricier closer seats 109-112) if it's a late afternoon, early evening kickoff.

If it's noon, you're pretty much stuck with the sun the whole time barring cloud cover.

Wear a hat, shades, and sunblock and you'll be good.

Just an update, since I can almost be assured it will be an afternoon game and I can't get out of the sun, I pulled the trigger on upper deck 50 yard line.

Anyone know the scoop about the parking garages and tailgating? Someone said you cannot tailgate in the parking garages but it is the only place to park.

I really appreciate all of the input. Thanks!

You tailgate on the mall in front of the arena. Its actually a pretty good time tailgating at ucf. Just get there early to stake out your spot. Im a UF so I should normally be rooting for the SEC but Im going with the hometeam and the anti Spurrier on this one.

Hahaha! Spurrier is so polarizing! You either love him or hate him.

Thanks for the advice!

One last question, hotels downtown? I'd like to make a fun weekend out of this and not really interested in the theme parks.

Suggestions?
