Yes, I know. Horrible habit. I used to be a pack-a-day smoker, but now smoke "maybe" 3 a day.

I am blown away at how many people here in Orlando ask me for a cigarette. This morning I was just driving down to the store, enjoying my "after coffee, morning smoke" and was stopped at a red light. The guy in the car next to me asks for a smoke. Often, while walking around in my apartment complex, a complete stranger asks.

I've all but quit smoking now, but I haven't quit BUYING them if I want one.

Maybe they are crafty guys, which apparently do not wish to buy their own cigarettes. It's a simplest way to saving money. I think this is indecently.

Ignore them

Smokers not only kill themselves and their lungs but cause many other issues.

The smell of a smokers clothes when you have to stand next to them is disgusting itself.

The butts that these people litter up our land is amazing.

Having watched a parent lay and die from smoking for many years if you have never went through that then go visit a rest room where many are laying dying because they smoked.

Stop the nasty habit for yourself and for the rest of us who have to deal with the nasty habit.

Better go to the gym than smoking

Do you live off South OBT? My god thats where most of it seems to happen. My parents lived off of OBT between Holden and Americana for a long time a few years back and whenever I'd visit them, somebody would ask me for a cigarette. I try to avoid that area as much as possible

My father also died from cancer that was related to smoking since he has been 14, he was 64 when he passed away two years ago

Sorry to hear about your Father. It is sad to see this happen to a member of your own family. I watched as a parent lay suffering because of this mistake.

My kids talked them into stopping years earlier and it added years of life but it was too late after smoking for 50 years. Damage is done.

I live in Winter Park, so it's apparently not a localized thing.

That's what I don't get about smokers. They never seem to have their own stuff. If they're not asking for a light, they're asking for a cig. If I had a habit that addictive I think I'd make a point of always having the things I need to feed my addiction.

Incedentally, when I was in college I'd always bring a lighter with me when I went out, even though I didn't smoke. The idea was that if someone asked me if I had one (preferably a cute girl) I could offer mine and from there strike up a conversation. I think I got the idea from Maxim or something. It worked though.
