Freshfields Farm does not have Grass-Fed Beef, theirs is produced via traditional feed lot where cows are restricted to penned areas and fed a corn/grain mix to fatten them up. Their chicken is "all-natural" (which means nothing) and since there is no mention of "pasture raised" or even "free range" most likely raised in the horrible indoor coop conditions of most poultry producers (chickens have their beaks cut off when young so as to not peck each others eyes out in close quarters, no room to get up and move around but cannot anyways since they're fed so much in order to fatten the breast meat they cannot stand, sitting in urine and feces until cage cleanings and often among other chickens that have died in the nasty conditions). It's truly amazing what people will fall for when one slaps a "farm fresh" name on.

Deep Creek Ranch in Deland offers grassfed beef, but they just sold their beeves in November, they'll offer them again this spring. We've been picking up ground beef for 6.50 a pound from Lake Meadows Naturals in Ococee. Haven't tried their pork or chicken yet, but their eggs are declicious. They are wonderful to deal with and you can collect your own eggs should you so desire.

Oh cool, they're carrying White Oak Grass Fed Beef now, which is a local producer. The only pain is that it's frozen and that's a very tough cut of meat potentially (as reflected in the price). It is cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I'm gluten intolerant and I just don't bother with the grass-fed beef or free-range, too expensive or too hard to get: you're better off saving your money and buying regular chicken or pork, and buying more fish, coconut butter, coconut oil instead, fish/cod oils and so on. There is a small difference between grass fed and grain fed beef in terms of fatty acid profile, but it's not worth it compared to changing your diet to include other foods that have superior fatty acid profiles. One serving of fish has about ten times the omega-3's of grass-fed beef.

No, Deep Creek offers quarter, halves, whole, and and organ meat, beef tallow, and ovens you might like. But if you are looking for fresh grassfed beef until DC offers their next butchering visit lake meadows to pick up some great cuts.

Just curious, since i keep seeing this in various posts, do you mean "voila"? Or does this mean something else?

Publix sells grass fed ground beef, not local though
$8 per pound
they may sell other cuts as well, I was only looking for ground beef at the time
Whole foods $25 per pound, hhmm, didn't know they had any cuts of meat that were that expensive.
Did you check The Fresh Market?
