Hello! We are planning on moving from North Carolina to the Orlando area in 2 years after I graduate college. I'm planning on getting a job (intern at first) at Disney World and starting my career there. We have two children, ages 11 and 9. They are excited about the move as much as Mom and Dad. I'm trying to research schools and neighborhoods that are decent and close enough to Disney that the commute isn't horrible. I also want to stay away from I-4. I've found some really nice neighborhoods, some gated, some with pools and walking trails. The kids really want a pool, and of course I think that would be nice to have since Florida's weather is hot! Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on schools or neighborhoods?

Does dad have employment in Orlando? What is your budget?

My husband will have to find a job in the area hopefully before we move. He hasn't started looking yet, since our move is two years away. We're thinking our budget will be $200,000 max.

1. Getting an intern job at WDW is not that easy. What field are you in? A lot of the internships are in California.

2. What kind of budget will you have?

3. Will you have jobs in advance of moving.

4. Clermont is where a lot of Disney workers live. Don't have to drive 1-4 to get there.

Just saw your answers,so editing..... Plan a 2nd job just in case the internship does not happen.....my son was working for the company and tried to get an engineer internship and never did get it. You might try the contest version to win an internship if they are still doing that, too.
What field is your husband in. New neighbors are struggling.....going on 3 months of being in Florida.....found and quit or lost 4 jobs between them so far. Pay is a lot less than they planned on.

Internships at Disney don't pay much.

What field is your husband in?

My husband is in the retail management field. He may try to get on with Disney as well or try some other tourist locations.
