Does anyone have any feedback on the neighborhood in Alafaya, zip code 32825? I have not read anything positive or negative online, so I have no idea if it is a safe-ish area. I am relocating to Orlando early 2015, to Altamonte Springs, but a good friend has a house that will be available for rent in Alafaya.

I lived in 32825 and its neighboring 32828 zip code many years ago. IMO the nicest area of the 32825 zip would be that area where Alafaya and Curry Ford meet, which sounds like the area you are referring to. Or some people might say the Rio Pinar area is nicer further west of Curry Ford. Anyway, its all relative, I suggest that you use the link below. Enter the address and it will give you recent property crime/robberies that have been reported in that area. Albeit, far from flawless, it does give you a general idea of what kind of action you see in that neighborhood and the surrounding vicinity.
From my personal experience, that whole zip code including 32828 is, as you mentioned, "safe-ish", violent crimes are probably few and far between but increasing property crime was one of the reasons I moved out. As a renter though, you don't have to worry about too much of a long term commitment. BTW that area will be a good 30-50 minutes from Altamonte Springs depending on time and traffic.

Thank you so much for your feedback! She found a renter for her house, so it won't be available for me which might be for the best since we have family in Altamonte Springs and would like to be closer to them. Thanks again for taking the time to give your input!
