I have been scammed three times by the Vacation Short-Term Industry, in the Disney Area. Until someone made me aware of Ripoff report . com, and now I can fight back, if it happens again.

Check them out, if you are scammed.

Just pay with a credit card and if they scammed you, you can dispute the charge and get your money back.

Lots of these companies do not take credit cards, and if you find one that does charges you 4 percent extra.

Any consumer reporting in Florida that one can go to in the event that anyone gets scammed, again. So far the only one I now is the Better Business Bureau.

Florida needs to protect consumers from the piranhas and barracudas swimming in the Vacation Short-Term Rental industry, in the Disney area, which is where most of them are located, or for now, we will have to deal with Rip off report.

The only sites I check are Yelp.com and Tripadvisor.com

If the business isn't on there, I believe you can add it and write a review.

Thank you for your help!

Well, the word is getting around, however, that is not enough. A State like Florida, that its economy depends on Tourism, cannot afford not to protect its customers.

Specifically, the Short-Term Rental Industry needs to be regulated by the State of Florida, since many of the people visiting Disney come from out-of-the- country.

I live in this country, and I have been a victim three times. There is a collusion between the agents that advertise on the internet, and the property- management companies that take care of the house, to make false accusations when the tenant leaves the premises so that they can keep people's security deposits. It has happened to several of my friends, also. Of course, not all of these people are thieves, some are legitimate agencies with a Better Business Bureau good rating, but many are not, and those are the ones giving the industry a bad name.

What irks me is that the State of Florida is doing nothing about it. I even wrote to Florida's District Attorney, who referred me to another agency, who never contacted me.

I payed $300 via Paypal, that it is not covered under their policies because it is a reservation deposit, and the rest I sent via personal check. I am a trusting person.

Sorry to hear that. How exactly were you scammed?

Disney.com has always been cheaper for me than any travel/trip package site.
