Taking 50 to a beach in Brevard County is a long way to go. 50 brings you into Titusville which has only the Space Center on the beach side except for Canaveral National Seashore which is a long drive out.

But if you are in the rt 50 area of Orlando you could take 50 until you get to 520 and take it into Cocoa Beach proper.

Taking 528 to 520 to get to Cocoa Beach will be faster . Of course staying on 528 will get you to the Port and you could go to the beach in the campground there but to get to the pier and Ron Jons areas of Cocoa Beach 520 is the way I would get there.

You must drive fast to get to the beach in under an hour.

I'm not sure if you're from Orlando or not, but if you just go with the flow of traffic, most people get to Cocoa in 45 minutes. I guess if you drive exactly the speed limit the entire way both on the freeway and local streets it would take a tad over an hour depending on where you live in Orlando. If someone lives in say Lake Mary, it's faster to go to Daytona Beach. However, for most people they can get to a beach in around 45 minutes whether it's Daytona Beach or Cocoa Beach or New Symrna Beach depending on where you live.
