HI, we are moving from Philly, PA to Orlando this year in July. We have shortlisted Seminole county as we were told this is the best school district in Orlando. ANy suggestions on middle and elementary schools in seminole? My daughter will start grade 8 and son will start grade 4. ALso suggest communities dominated by INdians- Longwood, Lake Mary or Sanford?

Hi there and welcome! I lived in Philly for 10 years before moving down to FL in 2010. I would suggest Sanford Middle School which is known for it's Pre-International Baccalaureate program which is very highly rated and sets students up to move onto the equally prestigious IB program at Seminole High School. It's a bit tougher for elementary school unless you wind up zoned for Heathrow Elementary. Otherwise most everyone is in a zone where all new students go to where there is room and currently that's Idyllwilde Elementary which is not as good as the other three....Goldsboro, Wilson and Bentley. I would call Seminole County Public Schools for the latest update on the elementary school availability but bear in mind you'll need an idea of where you'll be living first.

Dr. Phillips hands down, especially along Apopka Vineland Road. My Indian friends really like the temple here, "Maa Durga Sri Sai Baba Temple." It's a nice and safe area too and the commute would be easy as well.
