Well I know that it costs money to drive on 408, but its free on Colonial, and sometimes faster. To save money you don't take 408. That's all I need to know. I don't care what they do in some place I don't live.

Has the Rt4 project gotten underway or is it done? I will be travelling that route fairly often it seems.

It has started. I don't believe it will be complete for a number of years. Kind of like the Big Dig to put it into perspective.

No they are not.

You want to know something funny/strange? The plans/designs for this thing aren't even remotely close to being complete. They are designing at as they build. I believe this will take much longer than they anticipate.

And cost a lot more money.

Hence my reference to the Big Dig.

Depending on when you travel, delays shouldn't be TOO bad, but there is still traffic from both General traffic and construction. Also, tolls won't be collected on all the lanes. To explain it the easiest way, it is like they are building HOV lanes (2 per direction, 4 total) and only those lanes will be tolled. If you travel down the existing lanes, you won't be tolled, and the HOT (High Occupancy Toll) lanes will be tolled based on how much traffic is in the GUL (General Use Lanes)

I have to venture to south Clermont and nothing is fast. If you hit 417- to 1-4- to you run into Rt192- wall to wall- if you do 408 you still run into traffic on Rt192 from the 429 --and if you stay on 50 it's light after light, after light- burn up all your gas. I have gone all the ways possible- time wise it is about the same. I cannot figure why there are NO roads that go east to west or vie versa from Orlando to 27

I NEVER have any issues going from one end of 408 to the next.
