Yes, I-275 stinks... But at least it serves as an alternative to I-75... As does the Veterans...
There are NO alternate expressways to I-4... Unless you count 429 and 417, both of which are way too far to be considered.
That new toll road from I-4 to downtown Tampa to Brandon is surprisingly effective too.
The only expressway I deem effective in Orlando is the 408... Other than its poorly-designed interchange with I-4... Two major 8-lane expressways crossing and you only offer short, one-lane ramps? Not only are they mind-numbingly dangerous, they constantly create gridlocks on I-4. Who designed that mess? And what's with the two-lane ramp looking thing downtown coming from East Orlando that suddenly stops in mid-air?
Other than that, the 408 is fantastic.

By the way, I consider Colonial Dr. to be just as bad as Dale Mabry/Kennedy
Yep, you are right, and luckily the 408/I-4 interchange is being reconfigured with I-4 Ultimate, which starts early next year. That incomplete section of ramp is going to connect to I-4 westbound:

Well this is reassuring... So no more insane backups at the I4 exit on 414, huh?
And as often as I got from 408 to I-4, this will be good.
Glad to see they're also FINALLY fixing those terrible OBT exits.

You are selling Tampa short here. Tampa is the Strip Club Capital of the US. Definitely what Tampa is known for. Not its beaches, culture or environment.

It is common knowledge that Tampa has more strip clubs and adult video stores
per capita that almost all other cities in the US, ranking only behind Las Vegas.

I was in Tampa this weekend by the Westshore area. Really nice what they've done with the mall and that area.

Why? Then it would just look like ever place else. FL is unique, we will have our own.

Its unique alright. LOL.

I honestly dont know which is better between Tampa and Orlando. I'd like to see a Charlotte vs Orlando or Tampa vs Charlotte comparison.

Why? So everyone can whine about the economies compared to those three cities for the thirteen-billionth time?

Soon enough, the I-4 corridor from Orlando through Lakeland to Tampa will be considered one big cosmopolitain area like South FL. Hopefully it will feature some type of high speed rail line as the back-bone. Lets stop the pointless arguing. They both have their perks.
