Me and my husband are thinking about relocating. We currently live in North Carolina and are in need of a change. I work remotely and there is an office is in Lake Mary, FL so I would like to be within an hour of there. Are there any places you can recommend? Our annual income is around 80k currently and we have two kids so good schools are important. We would also like to to spend no more than $1,200/month for rent.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You should be able to easily find decent condos/duplexes IN Lake Mary for that price.
You can even find decent houses:

Lake Mary is a good choice for those with children on a budget.

Lake Mary is among a few of the most desirable places to live in the Orlando metro area because it's safe, has excellent public schools and isn't surrounded by congested, touristy areas. You'll do well to live/work in Lake Mary.

Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Longwood and Casselberry would all fit the bill.
