Hello,
Does anyone on here remember the theme park Boardwalk and Baseball? We visited there many years ago as we were vacationing in the Orlando area. Just curious why did the park close? We live in New Jersey and visited the area after it had closed. My family and I were talking about the theme park just recently and the question came up. Also, did the Kansas City Royals play spring training games there?

It was right near U.S.27 and I4. I think it closed in the late 80s. Vaguely remember it as a kid

Yep, I went there not too long before it closed, and my husband went to it when it was Circus World. A couple weeks ago, we ended up driving out in that area (now Posner Park) and you could still see some signs of the footprint it left behind. (It was at night, but it looked like you could see the road that led in still had lights up on it--and leading to pretty much nowhere. If you search Google maps for Posner Park, Davenport, FL and then switch to satellite view, you can see the demolished area where I'm pretty sure it was, just southeast of Posner Blvd, which used to be Home Run Blvd like it is on the other side of the street.)

When I visited it as a teenager, there was no one in the park, and that's how it was most of the time. There simply was no one who would go allll the way out there in the middle of nowhere just for a handful of off-the-shelf rides, and maybe some spring training. (And yes, Kansas City had spring training here.)

Here's a video from about a year before it closed, and you can see that the place is just plain empty.

Yep. It had a 3 year run from 87-90. They used the same rides that circus world had. They didnt upgrade the place but basically gave it a face lift. It is now retail center.
