Nearly all places in the world are subjected to some Crime. Winter Garden is a large district, but the majority of it is quite insulated and well to do.

What difference if it's in Orange County?

I think it's pretty obvious he is trolling, I wouldn't take anything he says to heart lol.

Welcome. I pretty much agree with others when it comes to living. Look into Thornton Park/Eola, Audobon Park, and Baldwin Park areas also though! If you're in hospitality though the closest destination might be over near the tourist corridor if commute is a high priority (it should be at least somewhat of one)

Because Orange County is not conservative.

Maybe not as a whole, but last I checked, Winter Park is in Orange County also.

Anywhere in Orlando is going to seem like Republicanville compared to San Francisco.

I'm a Lefty-Libertarian and the SF socialists bother me quite a bit. Not enough to leave though. The weather is much nicer here for my tastes. I couldn't deal with the Florida heat and humidity. 5 years of living in College Park were enough for me.

He wanted a gun town. Winter Park isn't that. And Orange County is becoming welfare central. I'm a pretty conservative guy, and I wouldn't reco orange county.

I suggest Lake or Seminole county.

You are misreading. He just wanted a concealed carry permit, which you can get in Orange County, and there's plenty of ranges in Orange County as well. I used to pass one in Casselberry on 17/92 on my way to work in Lake Mary every morning. He also likes community theater, or were you just fixated on the one thing you could identify with in his post? He can certainly live in Lake and Seminole, but Orange offers more without a terrible drive.

For single adults new to the area I always recommend Thornton Park in Downtown Orlando, this is a thriving up and coming area filled with restaurants, bars, shops, nightlife, arts, etc.. but it is also somewhat liberal being an urban downtown area.. A *slightly* more conservative alternative to Downtown Orlando would be Winter Park, it is also a beautiful area especially along Park Avenue with many historic homes, sidewalk cafes, boutique shops, restaurants, etc. and still within close proximity to the city center... Otherwise, to find a true conservative-heavy area you would have to venture out to areas such as Oviedo, Lake County, Sanford/Lake Mary, etc..

Another note to keep in mind, if you work in Orlando's hospitality industry your job will likely be in Southwest Orlando which is Orlando's tourism district where you will find the theme parks, convention center, large resorts, etc.. Some folks that work in this area prefer to live near this area, however, I have always found that living in Orlando's more local areas such as downtown and beyond are more desirable, more community-based, and still within a reasonable commute to these areas for work..

Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.. Best of luck with your big move!
I can't give you any more rep MrKnight, but what a refreshingly accurate, helpful and thoughtful post!
